Everyone’s Watching
And the applause rings louder inside our own homes.
By Tasneem Amiruddin
Since the beginning of history, us humans, attempted to
stretch our physical boundaries to reach different corners of the world. In the modern
age, we thought there was no place we had not reached. Until the pandemic unexpectedly
confined us to the corners of our homes.
But the world didn’t shut down on us. In fact it made itself open newly and offered us a chance to discover it in unexpected ways.
Even if as it drew rendered us distant from each other physically, it brought us closer
than we thought we could be, digitally.
It made us grow together as human beings and made us more capable individually.
Our talents were put on the stage of the world and witnessed by an audience much
larger than that in an auditorium. The appreciation on screen rang louder than physical
applause. We held each other’s hands to help each other grow, each in our
own homes.
